Ben Chasin tells me more about Urke Nachalnik

Somebody should do an oral history on Ben Chasin! I can't understand him well enough over the phone to spell the names he gives me!

However, he remembered the thief-turned-writer Urke Nakhalnik and said his most famous play was Nakhtmentshn (people of the night) and that the "best actors" played in it, two of them from Vilna. I think he said Rivka Shiler and Chaver Wolfgang but when I google those names nothing comes up.

Hello A. Rybak! Do you live near Ben? Has anybody tried to get him to tell his whole story for posterity? It's just too hard on the phone ! Tell him hi back for me and email me at jane@mappamundi.com if you like.

Hello - unfortunately we don't live near him half the year when he is in Florida. But, we all enjoy him very much when he is in New York. He was so excited to see your words in writing. He has written a "life story" in Polish. We are having it translated - hopefully soon!
